As the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s (DRC) eight-month cobalt export ban approaches its scheduled expiration next week, the government has announced cobalt export quotas for the remainder of 2025.
According to a statement released on Saturday by the DRC’s Strategic Minerals Regulatory Agency, the new quotas will take effect on Saturday, October 16, and are allocated proportionally based on each company’s export volumes over the three-year period ending December 31, 2024.
