On October 16, 2025, Jindal Steel International (JSI) of India announced it has entered into discussions with ThyssenKrupp AG regarding the potential acquisition of the German industrial giant’s steel division and confirmed the submission of a non-binding indicative offer.

In its statement, Jindal outlined a forward-looking proposal designed to support ThyssenKrupp Steel in reducing decarbonization costs while ensuring the continuity of steel production in Germany and unlocking new business opportunities.

The proposal reportedly includes commitments to invest in green steel technologies and maintain local operations, aligning with Europe’s broader industrial and climate policy goals.
