On October 20, a freight train loaded with 3,564 metric tons of high-quality Heishan standard blended coal departed from Turpan Railway Station in Xinjiang, bound for Yangqiaopan Station, operated by Haoji Railway Operation & Development Co., Ltd. in Shaanxi Province. This shipment marks a milestone: China Energy Investment Corporation’s Xinjiang Energy Company has successfully established a new logistics corridor for “Xinjiang Coal to Shaanxi” (Jiangmei Ru Shan), adding a vital flow direction to national energy supply and further optimizing the external transportation network for Xinjiang coal.

In response to the volatile coal market in 2025, Xinjiang Energy has proactively adjusted its strategy, prioritizing market layout optimization and enhanced sales resource allocation. The company has accelerated the development of coal export channels from Xinjiang, with Turpan Station serving as a critical hub for transshipment and outbound logistics.

The new route to Yangqiaopan was made possible not only by Turpan’s strategic location but also by favorable rail freight rate subsidies—a policy that significantly lowers transportation costs. This initiative has effectively addressed the oversupply challenges faced by certain coal types, unlocking idle production capacity and providing a crucial buffer against market downturns.

Notably, the shipped Heishan blended coal features low sulfur and low sodium content, meeting stringent environmental standards while aligning with the operational needs of downstream power and industrial users. This not only reduces end-users’ fuel costs and emissions compliance burdens but also diversifies Xinjiang Energy’s exported coal portfolio.

By delivering cleaner, more tailored coal products to central and eastern China, the company is strengthening the “Xinjiang Coal” brand, enhancing its recognition, reliability, and competitiveness in external markets.
