According to legend, more than 2,100 years ago, when Liu Che, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, visited Mount Tianzhu, the ancient southern mountain of Zen, he set up a "Mingtang" for worship on this mountain and got its name from it. Because its elegant and graceful mountain shape echoes the majesty and uprightness of Tianzhu Mountain, and they belong to the same region of Anhui and are only a hundred miles apart, there is a saying that "the two mountains are so long that they are almost the same as each other", so they jokingly call Tianzhu Mountain "Gongwan Mountain" and Mingtang Mountain "Mother Anhui Mountain".” ； And because there is a natural rooster pattern on the stone wall of the main peak of Mingtang Mountain, and the peaks looking from the north are shaped like rooster combs, it is also called "Jigong Mountain".
