Under the guiding principles of resource sharing, complementary strengths, mutual benefit, and shared development, the 2025 China International Mining Conference (CIMC)—held over three days in Tianjin—culminated on October 25 with a high-profile Project Signing Ceremony hosted by the Tianjin Municipal Natural Resources System at the Meijiang Convention & Exhibition Center. The event marked the successful conclusion of the conference with eight significant cooperation agreements inked on-site.

Tianjin Geological Bureau Forges Strategic Alliances

The Tianjin Geological Bureau and its affiliated institutions signed cooperation agreements with three key partners:

  • PetroChina Dagang Oilfield Company

  • Tianjin Energy Investment Group Co., Ltd.

  • Tianjin Bowei Technology Co., Ltd.

These collaborations span critical domains including urban safety, resource utilization, engineering construction, spatial development, and big data applications, reflecting a comprehensive integration of geological expertise with urban and industrial development needs.

For years, the Tianjin Geological Bureau has championed innovation-driven, high-quality development, leveraging its talent pool and technical capabilities to address challenges in energy security, geological hazard mitigation, natural resource management, ecological conservation, and urban-rural planning. Through technological co-innovation, data sharing, and service model upgrades, the bureau has deepened the fusion of geological work with city development—delivering tailored, high-quality geological solutions that support the building of a modern, people-centered city that is innovative, livable, beautiful, resilient, civilized, and smart. This approach has established the widely recognized “Tianjin Geological Model” for serving local economic and social progress.

Huakan Geological Bureau Expands Cooperation Horizons

Meanwhile, the Tianjin Huakan Geological Bureau and its subsidiaries signed agreements with five enterprises:

  • Sichuan Hongda Group

  • Northern Heavy Industries Group

  • Inner Mongolia Nonferrous Metals Geological Exploration Group

  • Chengde Jinling Mining

  • Zhongshi Watson Holdings

These partnerships extend beyond traditional areas like mineral exploration and equipment manufacturing into emerging fields such as green mine development and capital-technology integration, showcasing Huakan’s open, forward-looking strategy of fostering synergies between “industry + capital” and “technology + services.”

Over the years, Huakan has remained steadfast in its core mission, actively participating in China’s New Round of Strategic Mineral Exploration Breakthrough Initiative. It has deepened its paired-assistance programs in Xinjiang, notably advancing the Kalagaili Copper Mine project, while refining its core geological exploration technology system through real-world application. Breakthroughs in deep mining and strategic mineral exploration have broadened its service scope and strengthened its internal momentum for high-quality growth—laying a solid foundation for today’s expanded collaborations and fueling progress in mineral resource development, western region investment, and overseas expansion.

Building a New Ecosystem for Win-Win Mining Development

Moving forward, all parties pledged to leverage this signing as a catalyst to pool resources, align technologies, and integrate industries, aiming to create multi-level, cross-regional cooperation exemplars. The goal is to co-build a mutually beneficial, sustainable mining ecosystem and jointly advance a new era of high-quality development in geoscience and the mining industry.

Chen Yong, Party Secretary and Director of the Tianjin Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau, affirmed the government’s support:

“As the industry’s regulatory authority, our bureau will further optimize policy frameworks, strengthen resource allocation, and fully support the implementation and success of these signed projects, injecting new momentum into Tianjin’s high-quality development.”
